Vrsni was a Yadava king, a descendent of Yadu. He was son of Madhu and grandson of Kartaviryarjuna. He was a great king such that a dynasty came to be known by his name. Vasudeva and Sri Krishna belong to his dynasty. Vrsni had two wives named Gandhari and Madri. Four sons were born to him by Madri: Sumitra, Yudhajit, Vasu and Sarvabhauma. Shini and Nimna were the sons of Yudhajit. From Shini came in order: Satyaka Satyaki (Yuyudhana) Jaya Kani Amitra Prsni
