Kosala king during the Mahabharata period. He come under the lineage of Sri Rama and Dasaratha. During the Mahabharata War Kosala fought the side of Kouravas. During his conquest of the East, Bhimasena defeated this King. This powerful King of Kosala had given fourteen thousand horses for the Rajasuya of Yudhisthira. Brihadbala fought with Abhimanyu and Ghalotkaca in the battle of Mahabharata. Abhimanyu killed Brhadbala in the battle.

Another Brihadbala is king of Gandhara. Sakuni and Vrsaka were his brothers.
