The mother (foster mother) of Sri Krishna

Yasoda was the wife of Nanda , the chief of the cowherd of Gokula. When Yasoda gave birth to a girl child, her child was exchanged with Krishna without her knowledge and information. Consequently Krishna spends his childhood and early boyhood days at the care of Yasoda.
