This is a purana developed from the Saiva cult of Ekamra Kshetra (Bhuvaneswar). The Lingaraj temple form centre of this cult. Ekamra Purana indicates that the Deity of Lingaraja temple was originally under a mango (Ekamra) tree and was not seen as Lingam in Satya and Treta yuga. In the Dwapara and Kali yuga it revealed itself as Lingam and people started worshipping
