In the religious circle Mimamsa is meant for Purva Mimamsa, the orthodox karma marga system which considers Vedas and the Vedic rites as the supreme spiritual value and authority. However, the Indian philosophy divides Mimamsa into two, the Prurva mimamsa(karma marga) and Uttara mimamsa (jnana marga), both form part of six systems of Indian philosophy
Upanishads are the fundamental texts for Uttara Mimamsa, so this discipline is also called Vedanta , the end of Veda
