Dark fortnight of the two phase of a lunar month. Krishnapaksha is of 15 days where the moon decreases its size (waning moon). It begin with day succeeding full moon and end with Amavasya
A lunar month consists of 30 Tithi (days). It corresponds to rotation of moon which appears waxing and waning in the night sky. There are two phases in a cycle of rotation (in a month), namely Krishnapaksha and suklapaksha. Each phase got 15 days and are called as: Prathama , Dwitiya , Tritiya , Chaturthi , Panchami , Shashthi , Sapthami , Ashtami , Navami , Dasami , Ekadashi , Dvadasi , Trayodasi , Chaturdasi , Amavasya / Purnima
