Bhuma Vidya

Sanskrit

In General

Bhuma Vidya is a spiritual sadhana said in Chandogya U. (Ch#7)

Veda

Bhuma vidya of Chandogya Upanishad is revealed by Sage Santkumara to his disciple Narada. This is the knowledge of Infinite Vast or Bhuma. Unlike the temporal world, the Bhuma, the infinity eternal. The one, who perceive Bhuma, or literally experience, sees no death, no suffering, and no pain. He sees only the Infinite, the Eternal Perfect Spirit ever existing.

The sadhana is not intellectual understanding. Good habits like faith in teaching, steadfastness, pure in mind and heart are prerequisite to achieve the meditative state which leads one to the highest states of consciousness.

C.U. (7.24) is as follows

Where one sees nothing else, hears nothing else, understands nothing else, that is called the Infinite Plenum. But where one sees something else, hears something else, understands something else, that is called the little finite. That which is Infinite is Immortal, and that which is finite is mortal
