A chactor from Kathasarithsagara. Devadasa was a rich merchant who became poor by gambling his property. He was forsaken by his family and wife for his bad conduct. During his misfortune period once he went to his wife’s house where he heard his wife whispering to her new friend that on the four corners of his house there are hidden treasure as told to her by her mother in law. Devadasa recovered the treasures, divorced his old wife, abandoned his bad ways and married to another woman.
