Purana

Angada was among the group of Vanaras sent by Sugriva to find out Sita. He is brave, mighty and fought with Indrajith and many other commanders of Ravana Army. Rama sent him as his dutaka (messenger) to negotiate with Ravana to avoid the great War. After the battle, Sri Rama anointed Angada as the heir-apparent to the Kingdom of Kiskindha. The necklace which Bali had given on his death to Sugriva, was returned to Angada.
