Celestial mother cow; She is also known as Surabhi. Cows on earth are daughters of Kamadhenu. Kamadhenu provided with Vasista, Arundhati, their children and students all their requirements. Once, she even produced warriors to protect the Rishi.
Cow is very auspicious to Indians right from Vedic period.
Kamadhenu took birth or emerged during churning of Plazhi, the Celestial Milky Ocean by Devas and Asuras. Stealing of Kamadhenu from the possession of Vasista is an important event in Purana.
