Ramottaratapaniya U. is in the form of dialogue between Sage Yajnavalkya and other sages like Brihaspati, Bhadvaja, and Atri. It contain 121 verses spread over 5 chapters in prose and poetry mixed form.

Veda

The first chapter of the U. is about the places of importance. The second chapter of the U. deals with the six lettered Rama sdaksara mantra, ram ramaya namah . The third chapter is about meditating about Atman. The fourth chapter is giving esoteric knowledge. The fifth chapter again describes the greatness of Rama sdaksara mantra.
