In General

Narayana U. is a short U. classed among the Minor U. of K.Y.T.S. It is in prose form spread over four sections. Narayana the supreme purusha desired, “I shall create offspring” . From Narayana emanate prana, manas, organs of senses, organs of action, panchabhuta, Brahma, Rudra, Indra, Prajapati, Aditya, Vasus, Vedas. Through Narayana they do prosper and become absorbed.

Narayana is eternal, stainless, sinless, changeless and unnameable. Whoever recite the eight syllable mantra (ashtaksara) Om Namo Narayanaya attain full life, supremacy over man and attain Moksha. Narayana is the Brahman, the Purusha (all pervading Being) who is of the form of Pranava comprising of three syllable a, u, m. The Narayana who is the pure consciousness resides in the lotus of the heart. He is identified with Devakiputra Krishna who is dearer to the knower’s of Brahman. He is also the dweller in the heart of all being, the uncaused cause of the universe.
