Dandaka is a kingdom and a forest bearing the same name in Ramayana. One of the demands of Kaikeyi was to send Rama in exile and ask him to stay in this forest. Dandaka forest was a dreaded place, so, Kaikeyi may be expecting that Rama would never return. It was a subordinate state under the reign of Ravana and ruled by his brother Khara. Rama Killed Kara and his army with not much trouble and made the forest a peaceful place.
