Rani Rasamani
A rich lady from Culcutta who constructed the famous Dekshineswar temple after being commanded to do so by Mother Kali in dream. Sri Ramakrishna, the guru of Vivekananda came here to work as a priest for the temple. The temple is famous for which witnessed the spiritual unfoldment of Sri Ramakrishna. Though very rich land lord, Rani Rasamani was from lower cast Hindu community.
