Meaning of "Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7>"

Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7

In General

Gnana Vignana Yoga, the Yoga of (Knowledge of) Nirguna Brahman and Saguna Brahman

With this chapter Sri Krishna goes deep into the Hindu Philosophy. The description in this chapter is on how Maya, the power of supreme prevails as Prakriti. The other discussions are on the existence of the material world and the underlying reality behind it. It appeared to Sri Krishna that Arjuna could not make out anything from the philosophy of Nirguna Brahman which he was preaching, so, He, the great teacher Sri Krishna came down to his students level.

Sri Krishna took the poser as the Supreme Yogi, Knower of all things and from here onwards the advice is more to a disciple or devotee than to a friend Arjuna.
