āṅgīrasa smṛti
The authorship of the treatise Angiras smriti obviously goes to Sage Angirasa. This Smriti give the general code of conduct to be followed by an individual in society. The different manuscript available shows a variation in the number of stanza from 32 to 151. The book mainly dealt with Prayaschitta or expiation for various forbidden acts. The text considers injuring a cow as a very big sin. Its view on Sati or Sahagamana (wife dying on the funeral pyre of her dead husband) have been criticized by other works.
