A daughter was born to Kausalya by her husband Dasaratha before Sri Rama’s birth. She is the only sister of Sri Rama. Dasaratha’s long time friend Lomapada, the king of Anga adopted her as he don’t have any children in his wedlock. Later Lomapada gave Santha in marriage to Rishyasringa, a hermit.
