Srirudram, also known as Rudraprasna, is a hymn devoted to lord Siva. It is part of the Yajur Veda and one of the greatest of the Vedic hymns. Sri Rudram is in two parts. The first part is known as Namakam ( TS 4.5) because of the repeated use of the word "Namo" in it. The second part is known as chamakam ( TS 4.7)because of the repeated use of the words "Cha me". Namaka is divided into 11 Anuvakas and Chamaka is divided into 15 Anuvakas.
