The story of Nala and Damayanti is told in Mahabharata. Damayanti is of the women known for chastity and good charactor. She was Queen of Nala, the king of Nishada. Damayanti was the only daughter of Bhima, king of Vidarbha, and was very lovely and beautiful. Nala was brave and handsome, virtuous, and learned in the Vedas, skilled in all aspect of ruling a country. Damayanti loved him secretly and chose him as her husband in the swayamvara. Read also: Nala
