Veda is transferred from generation to generation by aural tradition. The Rishies were very particular about protecting the Samhita, the collection of revealed mantras. Kramaopatha is a method of chanting and protecting the mantras to its original form.

In Kramapatha the first word of a mantra is joined to the second, the second to the third, the third to the fourth, and so on, until we come to the final word and chanted in that order

In krama, though the words do not go in the strict natural order of one-two-three, there is no reversal of the words-the first after the second, the second after the third, and so on. So it is neither Prakritipatha nor vikrtipatha
