indriya
Indriya means Sense Organs. The 5 organs of perception (jnanendriyas), the 5 organs of action (karmendriyas) and mind (manas) form 11 Indiryas.
The 5 jnanendriyas are: ear, skin, eye, tongue, and nose.
The 5 Karmendriyas are: feet, hands, foot, rectum, genitals and mouth
FFor a spiritual life and even for success in material life the Indriyas are to be controlled. It doesn’t mean one should not enjoy life or shut the door to a social life. It only means to become master of the 11 senses including mind. Manas (mind) is always affected by the external world and thought process. The mind is to be controlled for any progress in life.
Indra is the Lord of the luminous mind and also of Indriya
