Hamsa
हंस
haṃsa
Swan; that which moves gracefully; Soul is sometimes said poetically as Hamsa.
There is a fancy belief that Hamsa has got power to separate milk from water. This promoted the logical argument Hamsa-kshera-nyaya . The poetic on the other hand considered Hamsa as a relevant analogy to portray the idea of separating good from the bad.
Hamsopanishad is a minor Upanishad assigned to Sukla Yajur Veda.
