Hiranya
हिरण्य
hiraṇya
Hiranya means gold. Gold is the king in metals and superior in all respect. The yellow luster of gold is always identified as divine in Indian thought. Morning sun rays and Agni have the same luster. Sridevi and many other gods have this luster and hence gold is taken as a divine material on earth. Indians of all age group and gender very often wear gold ornaments proudly over their chest, but never wear make an ornament for foot because of this aspect.
Gold is a representation of higher light, the supreme Truth.
