Bhagavan is the one who have radiance. Bhagavan is an epithet of God signifying His six supernatural powers, namely: total majesty, righteousness, glory, affluence, knowledge and renunciation. Great personalities like Rama and Krishna have these six qualities. So, they are also called as Bhagavan.
