(950-1020AD)A great Kashmiri philosophers, mystics and aestheticians. 35 or more books on philosophy and religious life goes to his credit. The largest and the most famous of his work is Tantraloka, an encyclopedic treatise on all the philosophical and practical aspects of Trika and Kaula (known today as Kashmiri-Saivism or prathuabhijnana system). Another of his very important contribution was in the field of the philosophy of aesthetics, which came up with his famous work, Abhinavabharati a commentary on Naṭyasastra of Bharata Muni. His other popular works are paramarthasara and prathuabhijnanavimaesini. Unlike other Kashmiri-saivism philosophers who supported dualism Abhinava Gupta was more in support non-dualism.
