The Vedic rishis don’t consider themselves as the author of the mantra they have published to the world; instead, they politely consider that the mantras were revealed to them in the deep meditative state and they as a human being just expressed them in the words. Vedic mantras are eternal truth that existed even before the birth of the universe and will exist for ever. Vedas are said to be eternal because of this aspect.

Veda

Veda Mantras are eternal truth which exists in Paramevyoman. Rishis have access to some of the Mantras and they have expressed them in words for the benefit of the humankind. So, rishis are not creators of the mantra but just witnessed the mantra, which exist in high state of consciousness.
