Vidyunmali was a son of Tarakasura. Vidyunmali along with his brothers Taraksha and Kalaksha built three moving cities known as Tripura, made up of gold, silver and iron. They were collectively called as Tripurasur. Lord Siva destroyed the cities and killed them for their atrocities.
