Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswati (1894-1994 CE) was the 68th Jagadguru Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. Under his leadership this spiritual centre established by Adisankara gained great spiritual glory. For the spiritual and intellectual standard he had people called him Mahaperiyavar, meaning the great elder.

His name in purvasrama was Swaminatha Shastri and he took sanyasa at the age of 13 and become head of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham in 1907

Mahaperiyava's discourses have been recorded in a Tamil book titled "Deivathin Kural" (Voice of God). It is translated into English by the name “Hindu Dharma”
