Uddalaka-Aruni Vidya
The Upanishads uses the word vidya as a technique to do spiritual Sadana. It is meditation and also all other faculties like memorizing, wishing, understanding, aspiring, contemplating and physical activities like developing personality. The technique help the Sadhaka to finally evolve into a supra physical spiritual life
This Vidya occurs in the Brihadaranyakopanishad, (3.7). Yajnavalkya instructs Uddalaka Aruni.
Wind, O Gautama, is the thread that ties together this world and the other world and all things. Therefore, O Gautama, they say of a deceased person, his limbs become united (because the Prana-Vayu has departed)'.
He who dwells in all beings, and yet, who is other than all beings, who controls all beings from within, He is your Soul, the Inner Ruler, the Immortal. There is no other seer but He, there is no other hearer but He, there is no other thinker but He, there is no other person understand but He; He is your Soul, the Inner Ruler, the Immortal! All else than Him is wretched.
In this Vidya meditation is to be practiced on the absolute identity of the Self and Brahman which is One Fullness of Existence.
