Sanskrit, Hindi , Marati and many other Indian languages are written in Devanagari scripts. Nagari script is its early form. Devanagari uses more letters than the Brahmi script though it absorbed a lot from Brahmi script. Devanagari is a complicated script developed to accommodate extra alphabets used in Sanskrit language. It has got symbols for all the 16 vowels and 36 consonants
