Brigu Varuni

Brigu Varuni was an Upanishad Rishi. He was son of Varuna. Brigu appear in Taittiriya Upanishad, in the chapter called Briguvalli, where he ask his father several questions regarding Brahmajnana.

Brigu Angira, a composer of Rig veda and Brigu, a composer of Atherva veda are different rishis. Brigu Varuni may be their descendent but lived at a later period. Bhagavad Gita says, Among the great sages I am Brigu; this sloka express the importance of the sages by the name Brigu.
